Scott Miller, CPCU, CIPA, APA, AMIM, AIM, Director of Premium Audit Services at Acadia Insurance Company has been named President of the Maine Chapter of the CPCU Society. He has served as an officer for 20 years in the National Society of Insurance Premium Auditors (NSIPA) and received the Betty Gerdes Distinguished Service Award in 2006 for helping, training and mentoring others to personal success.
Moore is also the editor of the NSIPA Periodical and is also serving as president-elect of the Portland, Maine-based after-school arts and theater program, A Company of Girls.

Gencorp Insurance Group, based in East Greenwich, RI, recently recognized employees who have been with the company for much of its sixty-plus years of operation.
2010 marks the 50th anniversary of employment at Gencorp Insurance Group, Inc./Glover-Padula Insurance for Judy Briggs, CIC, CPIW. She was first employed by Glover-Padula Insurance, Inc. in June of 1960 as an insurance clerk. From the outset of her employment, Briggs demonstrated serious commitment and loyalty to her employer. Because of her willingness to help out in any way she was asked, she was often called upon to assume new roles within the organization. Throughout the course of her 50-year career, her jobs included clerk, bookkeeper, customer service representative, insurance producer and corporate officer. Briggs remains a valuable asset and source of advice, counsel and perspective to her clients, according to Gencorp.
Lynn Dunham, AAI, CRIS, joined Gallo/Thomas insurance in 1980. When Gallo/Thomas and Glover-Padula came together in 1991 to form the Gencorp Insurance Group, it was clear to the firms that she would be a valuable player in the new firm. Dunham now handles the account service and

marketing responsibilities for a large book of commercial lines business.
Rick Padula, CIC, joined Gencorp in June of 1980, just out of Curry College. He embraced both responsibilities of learning about the industry and developing a commercial lines book of business, developing quickly into a key contributor to the revenues and success of Glover-Padula Insurance. He was gradually asked to assume more responsibility in Glover-Padula and was named as its vice president, then president. Shortly after Glover-Padula was merged into Gencorp Insurance Group in 2007, Rick became Gencorp’s president and assumed oversight responsibility for Gencorp’s entire retail operation. He still maintains a large commercial lines book of business.
Andrea Langlais joined Gencorp in May 1995, bringing 20 years of insurance agency experience. For her prior employers, she filled such diverse roles as bookkeeper, CSR and personnel manager. Since joining Gencorp, Langlais has contributed to Gencorp’s commercial lines unit as an account manager.
Now executive vice president of Gencorp Insurance Group, Joseph Padula, CIC, has spent 15 years with the company and taken on responsibilities ranging from commercial lines marketing for Glover-Padula to operations manager for Gencorp. Over the past several years, he has established a substantial commercial lines book of business while still maintaining responsibility for oversight of all operational and financial matters. Joe obtained a bachelor’s degree from Plymouth State and an MBA, with honors, from Boston College.
Mary Padula, AAI, ACSR, joined Gencorp on August 14, 1995 as a personal lines customer service representative with over 10 years of insurance industry experience. During her 15-year tenure at Gencorp, she obtained her ACSR and AAI designations and was promoted to the commercial lines department where she is a valued resource to her clients and fellow employees.
Annie Simon joined Gencorp on January 3, 1995 to cross-market health insurance to the firm’s property-casualty clients. She pioneered the establishment of Gencorp’s benefits division, which now comprises a significant portion of Gencorp’s revenues. Simon was previously employed by the Travelers for 15 years as a manager of its financial services department.
